10 Best Screen Recorder Software for Windows

Best Screen Recorder Software for Windows

Wouldn’t it be great if we could somehow record our screen or gameplay and keep it for ourselves? Well sure. You see, the YouTubers that you see, they didn’t invent the hot water by recording their games and the stuff they do on screen. With some great apps for your Windows PC, you can also record your screen or a gameplay, being able to send it to your friends or keep it as a memory. Today, we are going to examine the 10 best screen recorder software for Windows. Let’s do some recording, boys, and girls!

1. iSpring Free Cam

iSpring Free Cam is a surprisingly good software for screen recording. The first thing you’ll notice here is the absence of watermarks- hell yeah! Even though it’s a free software, the developers decided to spare us the bullshit. The best of all is the quality of the recording, allowing for voice-over and even recording computer sounds. As such versatile app, you can use it to edit your recorded videos, but only save them in WMV format.

2. OBS Studio

OBS Studio is here to provide you with an excellent streaming experience. Basically, this is a gamer’s best friend when it comes to recording gameplay and streaming. Many video streaming apps will limit you when it comes to video length, but not OBS Studio. You can now record until you fill your hard drive and do so in HD resolution. However, I suggest using it if you have a really powerful GPU since it records directly from your graphics card. This is probably the best software for recording your games.

3. TinyTake

What’s your take on screen recording? Well, if it’s a TinyTake, then you’ve come to the right place. Many say that this is the best app for screen and video capture, and while that’s arguable, I would say it’s a great way to go. It’s a feature-rich app that allows recording everything you do on your PC, including sound. Although the free version is a bit limited, you can still buy this app which isn’t all that expensive, depending on your budget.

4. CamStudio

If you are a non-demanding user, CamStudio is a great way to go. The first thing you’ll notice here is that the app boasts minimal editing features. With that in mind, you can use this app for occasionally, to record your screen and sounds with it. Still, I’m quite impressed with this app since the recording quality is great. When it comes to the video format, we are talking about AVI, a very popular format for movies and series. It’s a tiny app but packs a lot of power.

5. SmartPixel

SmartPixel is a beautiful-looking app that’s simple as it sounds! I mean, how can you not like apps like this? The best feature of this app is its gaming capabilities, meaning that you can use this software to record your games. But, it’s not all, folks! You can also record your desktop in HD resolution and still save some space, as the app optimizes your disk space. Finally, we need to mention the great picture-in-picture mode, allowing you to record both your monitor and what’s on your webcam.

6. ShareX

When it comes to the software, I’m a huge fan of open-source apps. ShareX is an open-source tool that can pride itself on having numerous useful features and being ad-free. Actually, you’ll find some features that you can’t even find in paid software, which is simply mind-boggling! You can now record full screen or window, use various hotkeys, import videos and music and insert custom video effects. You simply can’t ask for more!

7. Xsplit Broadcaster

Xsplit Broadcaster is a very simple app that’s best suited for the gamers. What I like about the app is its versatility since we can capture input from any source and do some live streaming. Are you a YouTuber? No problem! You can use Xsplit Broadcaster to make your videos look professional and sleek. For Twitch users, the app can record in 60fps, meaning that your fans will get a buttery-smooth gameplay and enjoy the beautiful view of their favorite game.

8. Icecream Screen Recorder

Icecream Screen Recorder manages to pack all of the amazing features into a tiny, well-worth app for your Windows PC. Since you aren’t going to get an Ice Cream from this app, let’s see what can you actually get. You’ll get a plethora of options for recording and edit your videos, such as capturing any area of your screen, drawing outlines or arrows to your capture and much more. The overall video quality is good, but you are limited to 10 minutes of capture with the free version. The paid version is quite expensive, so I wouldn’t bother with it.

9. Ezvid

Ezvid is a free screen and video capture software that’s here to give you an experience of your life! Unlike some other video capture apps, Ezvid uses your CPU power to accelerate the speed of recording. This means that your GPU will be almost intact while you do your necessary recording and editing. Yes, you’ve read it well! This software comes with a built-in video editor and includes some options for facecam!  The only real downside to this app is the space it can take and it’s about 10 GB. If you have a newer machine, Ezvid will work like a charm.

10. Camtasia

The last, but the least, on our list comes Camtasia. Camtasia is simply… well, fantastic! This app lets you record professional videos with a minimal effort and all of that in HD resolution. This isn’t exactly an app for gamers, but more for those who want to do various tutorials and show some activity. Another great feature is that you can add clickable links, which you often see on YouTube. Of course, this app isn’t free, but you can always try a 30-day trial and see how much will you like it.
