What is Firefox cache?

Firefox cache is a cache on your Mozilla Firefox browser that stores images, scripts, and other parts of the websites temporarily in order to speed up your browsing experience. As you keep visiting the same websites over and over again, you will notice a significant improvement in the speed. This is because Firefox browser is serving the content from your local browser cache instead of fetching it from the internet. Firefox’s caches are turned on by default.

Before clearing the Firefox browser cache, keep in mind that if you choose the options such as to clear browser cookies, it will log you out of any website you are logged in to. So the next time you like to access those websites, you will have to re-enter the username and passwords in order to get access to it.   1. Open Firefox in Windows.
  2. Click the menu button in the top right corner of the browser.
  3. Click on Options.
  4. Navigate to the Privacy & Security panel.
  5. Scroll down to the Cookies and Site Data section.
  6. Click Clear Data….
  7. If you do not want to clear the cookies and site data, uncheck the checkmark in front of Cookies and Site Data.
  8. To clear the website caches and files, check the Cached Web Content.
  9. Click the Clear button to clear Firefox cache.
