Netflix Not Rotating? How to Fix It

Netflix Not Rotating

Netflix is one of the most famous OTT (over-the-top) platforms users subscribe to for high-quality video content. It offers a wide range of genres to choose from, with satisfied customers worldwide. According to the platform itself, Netflix is now the most popular video subscription service in more than 190 countries. If the Netflix screen is not rotating (portrait to landscape and vice-versa), you’ve come to the right place to fix it. Though not a severe problem, it’s still a frustrating issue that ruins the experience.

1. Simple Solutions to the Netflix is Not Rotating Issue

There are a few ways you can try to rotate the Netflix screen. One is simply checking that rotation is enabled, depending on the platform:

  • Android — Drag your finger from the top of the screen to see the notification bar. Drag once more to expand it. Ensure the Auto-rotate option is enabled.
  • iOS — Open the Control Center utility by swiping down from the upper right corner. Tap the Portrait Orientation Lock button to ensure it is turned on.

Additionally, while watching any Netflix content, find the padlock icon among the options. If the icon shows a locked padlock, the screen rotating feature is disabled in the app. Tap it to unlock the functionality. Further, you can clear the app cache on Android, since this is not possible on iOS. Alternatively, uninstall and reinstall Netflix before clearing the cache again.

2. Use Netflix Flip to Rotate Screen on Desktop or Laptop

You may also use a free Google Chrome extension called “Netflix Flip” to comfortably view Netflix movies in whichever orientation you prefer. Netflix Flip is a small browser extension that won’t take up any space on your PC or make it run slower. We have no affiliation and its only job is to flip Netflix videos. You can also change the angle of the video to anything you like, whether it’s slightly skewed, completely vertical, or even upside down. Here’s how it works:

1. Download and Add the Netflix Flip Browser Extension

Go to the Chrome Web Store and download the Netflix Flip extension. This allows you to turn the screen on Netflix. When you choose ‘Add to Chrome’, a window with a pop-up will appear. Select ‘Add Extension.’

2. Select a Netflix Video

Choose the movie or television series you wish to watch. After the step below, you can watch any film, TV show, or piece of Netflix content with the desired viewing angle.

3. Choose to ‘Rotate’ or ‘Zoom in’ and ‘Zoom out’

You can change the screen orientation by selecting ‘Rotate.’ This will not completely rotate the device screen, but it will do so for a set angle. You can press rotate again to find the ideal position. Moreover, you can also magnify the screen in and out with this Chrome add-on. To do so, press the ‘zoom in’ or ‘zoom out’ buttons according to your preferences.
