Created by fromSoftware and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, this is an action role-playing Playstation game with a real bloody twist and monsters lurking behind every fig leaf. As The Hunter in a Gothic-themed Yharnam, you get to battle a slew of thoroughly evil and creatively created unmentionable grotesque beings with a variety of swords and firearms in a bid to cleanse your world of bloodborne evil.
With a stratospheric difficulty level, the game is definitely not for the faint of heart, the easily discouraged or the easily scared off. But with frenetic combat, plenty of bosses to pound on and cut to bloody bits, it’s just what the doctor ordered to make the hours zoom away. And oh yes, the pleasure is bloodborne. Rather than say, inhaled!
6. Destiny for PS4
Developed by Bungie and published by Activision, Destiny is an ever-bubbling pot of joy that totally beggars belief and defies description. Failing to fit into any particular slot it nevertheless packs all the needed tools for success and a well-regarded place in legend.
As a Guardian, the galaxy’s last hope is on you. Therefore gird your loins and battle against a host of enemies with differing capabilities in an all-out battle for survival and supremacy. An epic shoot-em-up on a mega scale offering saccharine-sweet delights wonderfully thought up and artfully executed, Destiny unhesitatingly demands that you worship its polish, execution and feel-good factor.
7. The Witcher 3 – Wild Hunt
An action role-playing game developed and published by CD Projekt RED, the Witcher 3 piles on the fun and excitement like an unusually generous Santa in a good mood. As the hero Geralt, you have a gargantuan open world to play around in and put the fear of God into your enemies.
Featuring graphics good enough to eat, a properly handsome swashbuckling hero, incredibly entertaining missions and all the baddies you can decapitate, it is simply the greatest and the bestest in the Witcher series.
8. Resident Evil 7 – Biohazard
Everybody’s favorite nightmare-inducing action game puts in an appearance on the PS4. And oh boy, does the powerful console treat it right! Developed and published by good old Capcom this is a survival horror heart attack-loving single player game that makes a very good effort at scaring you right out of your skin. And with support for PS VR enabled, expect a definitely overwhelming fear factor that ensnares you in its grasp and will not relent till you are ghost-white, violently trembling and puking your guts out. The evil sure is resident, but so are the pleasures!
9. Battlefield 1 (Playstation 4)
Developed and published by EA, Battlefield 1 is an extra-ambitious PS4 FPS game with an unusual scope and a narcissistic attention to detail. Set during World War 1, it showcases humanity’s first truly modern war with spine-chilling horror and puts you right in the water-logged frontlines and cramped cockpits as history was being made.
Sublime, horrific, awesome, and with a multiplayer and endless frenetic action to give your life for, it’s truly a masterpiece and a worthy ode to the fallen and forgotten heroes of that brutal conflict. Want to change history? Then Battlefield 1 is it.
Developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, Doom is one FPS that blows you far far away. Leveraging on the successes of its predecessors, this latest release unleashes all the usual horrors on poor you. Along of course with a few more carefully thought up extras for a delicious if nervously trembling dessert. At least you got lots of weaponry to blast, slash or blow them right back to hell their humble abode.
Extremely violent, graphically stunning and with action that moves along like it just overdosed on crack, it’s time to be the boss and doom your horrible foes to oblivion!
